Folklore[ | ]
Bastet, la figlia di Ra, è l’incarnazione sensuale della forma felina, e si crogiola spesso nelle gioie della vita. Ma questo Dio felino possiede anche artigli feroci. I gatti sono creature che esigono devozione. Essi sono regali, indifferenti e insaziabili. Sebbene essi languiscano al sole e facciano le fusa con soddisfazione, i gatti sono cacciatori agili e letali. Selezionano senza pietà le popolazioni di parassiti invasivi e di pungenti scorpioni, proteggendo la casa dai vili invasori. Il nemico più fastidioso dei gatti è probabilmente il serpente, e non vi fu più enorme serpente al mondo dell’orrendo Apopi. Girando attorno al mondo lungo la linea dell’orizzonte, il corpo squamoso di Apopi attende in agguato ogni mattina il sorgere di Ra, che porta luce al mondo. Per respingere la bestia, Ra si faceva accompagnare da sua figlia, Bastet. Fin dagli inizi del tempo, mentre Ra si alzava nel Cielo D’Oriente, Bastet avrebbe soffiato e ululato, con gli artigli sguainati contro l’infido Apopi. Furono combattute innumerevoli battaglie, finché, nella battaglia finale, Bastet fece a pezzi il turpe serpente. Con il suo nemico più grande ormai sconfitto, Bastet è ora libera di cercare una preda a suo piacimento. Ora, ella è la guardiana della casa e del cuore, idolo per le donne, -specialmente per quelle che desiderano dei figli ed esplorare la propria sensualità- e patrona delle arti, del vino, e di ogni occasione di festa. Come ogni gatto, comunque, Bastet può ancora avventarsi sul nemico senza alcun rumore, e dilaniarlo con i suoi artigli affilati.

- Bastet's weapon is a type of whip known as Cat o' nine tails.
- Bastet's used to have a skin called Night Prowler, which was removed from the game, most likely to prevent potential legal issues. The skin was eventually replaced with a heavily modified version of it, the Covert Ops skin.
