Ymir è una delle Divinità giocabili in SMITE.

Folklore

Per quanto si è potuto sapere, Ymir è stato morto a lungo. Nel Midgard, al Nord, si crede che il teschio di Ymir sia il cielo, la sua carne la terra, e il suo sangue il mare. Però, queste affermazioni potrebbero essere semplicemente le vanterie di Odino e dei suoi fratelli, che si presero il merito di aver ucciso il primo Jotunn e di aver creato il mondo dalle parti del suo corpo. All'inizio del tempo, il regno del fuoco, Muspell, e il regno del ghiaccio, Niflheim si scontrarono in un luogo chiamato Ginnungagap, il vuoto dello spazio. Forse egli adesso dorme nel Niflheim, il regno del ghiaccio, impaziente di tornare e di vendicarsi su Odino e la sua gente.

Abilità

General

• Ymir was one of the 9 playable gods in the Alpha build of SMITE's first presentation to the public at PAX Prime 2011.
• Ymir was one of the 17 playable gods in SMITE closed Beta.
• Ymir and Odin were the first Norse gods introduced in the game.
• Ymir has been a free starter character for every player account created since the start of the game's closed beta.
• There is an announcer pack themed after Ymir that you can hear it here:Ymir Announcer pack.
• One of Ymir's taunts, "You're mine now! Ymir will love you, and squeeze you, and call you George!", is a reference to one of Looney Tunes shorts, The Abominable Snow Rabbit. This character is, himself, a reference to the character Lennie Small from John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men.
• In April of 2015, Ymir received an remodel changing his Default, Twitchymir, Nuclear Winter and Mastery skins were changed, while his Obsidian Shard, Digi-MIR 9000 and Cacodemon skin had only their animations changed.

• This skin has the same name as the item Obsidian Shard.
• This was one of the few skins who were lowered from a Tier 3 to a Tier2 skin along with Black Widow Arachne.

• This makes this skin one of the few Tier 2 with custom effects.

• This is one of the few skins that still uses it 3D model for its Card instead of a digital painted card art, the other ones being Feaster Bunny Bakasura, Lil' Devil Cupid, Red Demon Hun Batz, Solar Sentinel Ra, Blood Eagle Thor, Digi-MIR 9000 Ymir and Stormbringer Zeus.

• This is the only skin in the game that uses the default VGS for commands but not for abilities.
