Folklore[ | ]
La pioggia è vita. Scrosci dall’alto impregnano la terra, nutrono i semi che crescono in frutti e cereali preziosi. Uomini e bestie sono ugualmente sostenuti da questo ciclo. Senza pioggia, questo mondo sarebbe arido e ogni cosa vivente diventerebbe polvere. Questo è dunque il potere di Chaac, Dio della Pioggia. Ma, come tutti i grandi poteri, non si è manifestato senza un grande prezzo da pagare. Durante i giorni più remoti dell’umanità, non vi erano fattori, così gli uomini morivano di fame sotto il sole. Per giorni, Chaac cercò un modo per nutrirli. Scoprì nelle profondità delle montagne un masso d’oro e lo spaccò in due con la sua ascia possente. Dentro il macigno, vi scoprì il mais, la coltura che avrebbe cambiato la storia della Gente Maya per sempre, e Chaac fu adorato e venerato per questo. Ubriaco d’orgoglio, Chaac cercò l’oggetto del suo desiderio più profondo, la moglie di suo fratello. Per un po’ di tempo, la loro relazione rimase segreta, ma non era destinata a durare. Il fratello di Chaac, il Dio Sole, li scoprì. Senza una parola, ella ritornò coscienziosamente da suo marito, e Chaac, realizzando ciò che aveva fatto, la lasciò andare, ma una crepa si formò tra i due fratelli e non si sarebbe mai risanata. Nella sua pena, Chaac lanciò la sua ascia nel cielo, e da quella ferita caddero lacrime di profondo rimorso. In seguito, Chaac scelseuna vita libera dall’orgoglio e dall’egoismo, dedicando sé stesso solo all’umanità. Come monito al suo errore più grande, egli continua a spaccare i cieli, lavando le terre con acqua nutriente. Perciò le colture crescono, Perciò i popoli sopravvivono. Questo è il potere di Chaac, Dio della Pioggia.

- One of Chaac's jokes, "Get to the Chaacca!", is an altered version of a famous quote also made by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film Predator.
- Chaac's Slaughterhouse skin was inspired by both the main antagonist of the Friday the 13th series, Jason Voorhees and the videogame Splatterhouse. Additionally, the skin was released on June 12, 2014 (a day before Friday the 13th).
